As you may remember I only schedule 4 school days a week. This is so we do not get behind during the year. It is also so I will encourage myself to use Fridays for nature walks without feeling panicked. I did not plan a hike for this week although it was in the back of my mind all week long. The boys woke up this morning and asked if they should move on to Week 2 Day 1 or were we going for a hike. It was only 60 degrees outside!! We had to do something.
I quickly thought of the easiest plan while the boys packed snacks. We would take our MT stuff and go a couple of miles to Greenway. Greenway has a log cabin with rocking chairs where we could have MT and then we could hike. And that is what we did. I made it extra special by buying a bag of peanut M&Ms to eat on the trail.
It is very important to me that we hike in the fall because I have not been able to fit in hikes in the spring. This week I hope to brainstorm all the places we can hike this year so next week I will be better prepared but the important thing is that we walked out the door rather than waiting for a plan.

If you could lift up your eyes from the scene in the above picture you would see a whole mountain range in the distance. On top of that range is you can see a tower and that tower is at Covenant College, the #1 most beautiful Christian College Campus in the country.
We live in a beautiful place and I am pretty sure it would be a sin if we didn't enjoy it regularly.
